Church in the MarketPlace is a group of Bible-led Christians whose aim is to live lives that add value to our community.
‘We turn talk into action’ at the local and international level, including through virtual and social media platforms.

Our Reverend

Rev. Maureen F Hector

who leads this ministry was ordained on 7 October 2006 and initially pastored a church in NorthWest London. She is fully supported in ministry by her husband, Rev. Michael Hector ordained 10th December 2022.

Our Journey

During the initial period of pastoring, she discovered that her calling was ‘out in the community’ hence she became a

mentor, RSA Counsellor, Bereavement Counsellor, Volunteer Befriender to the Elderly (AgeUK) and also fundraised for a few carefully chosen charities. On the global scene, she has some ongoing ministry projects in Liberia and Jamaica, all of which were outcomes of ministry trips she made.

In the past, Rev Hector worked at a local hospital as a volunteer chaplain. She also served for some time as a mentor at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institute.

She explains: “In addition to church leadership ministry, I have several passions. While hoping to become a community chaplain in the near future, I am currently setting up a new project with one of the local churches. This involves working on the front lines with young people―encouraging, mentoring, inspiring and listening. My aim is to continue to ‘turn talk into action’, a very practical approach to my Christian mandate.”

In 2020, she moved on from her former ministry to develop this online ministry, ‘Church in the MarketPlace UK’. The church maintains the unique core vision: ‘We Turn Talk Into Action’.

Her life, testimony and ministry echo the words of the Apostle Peter:

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though I must endure many trials for a little while.

These trials will show that my faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold” - 1 Peter 1:6-7.
